Ribbed Cowl Pattern
This pattern is super simple and customizable, using only a single stitch, you just add more chains to make it bigger, less chains to make it smaller, more rows to make it wider or less rows for narrower! If you can half-double crochet, you can make this pattern. Perfect for a holiday gift.
As an experienced crocheter even I make these cowls all the time! You can even make it an infinity scarf by just doubling the starting chain!
Lets get started!
Abbreviations and Stitches Used
Ch = Chain
Hdc = half-double crochet
Blo = back loop only
Slst = slip stitch
6.5 mm crochet hook
Worsted weight yarn
Round 1: Ch 100 slst into the first ch making sure there are no twists in the chain. Ch 1, hdc in each ch around slst into first hdc
Round 2-20: Ch 1, TURN hdc in blo in each stitch around slst into first hdc
Repeat row 2 until you have 20 rows
Its as simple as that! Cut your yarn and weave in your ends and you’re all done! The possibilities for this scarf are endless, playing with color striping and sizing is so fun and they make the perfect quick gift for the holidays!
